Denmark is a big shame- The sea is stained in red and in the mean while it’s not because of the climate effects of nature.

To all my friends, this was a chain mail forwarded to me this noon, this photo article is about humans and dolphins in Denmark. Please, read below. We have an updated photo article about Nepal’s own Gadhimai Mela Mass Animal Slaughter in this new post: WORLD’s BIGGEST ANIMAL SACRIFICE.

Friends, I’ve been receiving a large number of comments about this article. Read COMMENTS below.

KIND REQUEST. Please, note that we are neither promoting such things nor going against- if you want to know the facts please make your way to the authenticated sources. We just made a post out of here to inform about the mass mail we received. Please, comment or participate on this below. Denmark is a big shame The sea is stained in red and in the mean while it’s not because of the climate effects of nature. Mass killing of animals is absolutely an inhuman activities.

Picture 1: The sea is stained in red and in the mean while it’s not because of the climate effects of nature.
Picture 1: The sea is stained in red and in the mean while it’s not because of the climate effects of nature.

It’s because of the cruelty that the human beings (civilized human) kill hundreds of the famous and intelligent Calderon dolphins.

Picture 2: The sea is stained in red and in the mean while it’s not because of the climate effects of nature.
Picture 2: The sea is stained in red and in the mean while it’s not because of the climate effects of nature.

This happens every year in Faeroe island in Denmark . In this slaughter the main participants are young teens.
WHY?
To show that they are adults and mature…. Bullish

Picture 3: The sea is stained in red and in the mean while it’s not because of the climate effects of nature.

In this big celebration, nothing is missing for the fun. Everyone is participating in one way or the other, killing or looking at the cruelty “supporting like a spectator”

Picture 5: The sea is stained in red and in the mean while it’s not because of the climate effects of nature.

Is it necessary to mention that the dolphin Calderon, like all the other species of dolphins, it’s near extinction and they get near men to play and interact. In a way of PURE friendship

Picture 6: The sea is stained in red and in the mean while it’s not because of the climate effects of nature.

They don’t die instantly; they are cut 1, 2 or 3 times with thick hocks. And at that time the dolphins produce a grim extremely compatible with the cry of a new born child.

But he suffers and there’s no compassion till this sweet being slowly dies in its own blood

Its enough!
We will send this mail until this email arrives in any association defending the animals, we won’t only read. That would make us accomplices, viewers.

This should be stopped immediately but how many of you would also stop eating beef, pork, chiken and fishes. They are animals too and being killed every hour just for human pleasure.

    1. really now? says

There is a reason they are grown.. for food. This is different, this is MURDER. These are animals that are going extinct. We do respect your idealism of being a vegetarian so do also respect ours by not shoving your idealism in our faces 🙂 Plants are living things to. Who knows how they feel when we eat them?

Except that cows and chickens aren't extinct….

Except that cows and chickens aren't endangered species…

    4. Rusty says

For human pleasure, or for consumption? It is not a sin to partake in animals. Sure mass genocide to a dying race is sick but can you even compare it to something we have mass amounts of? Honestly, I could live without meat but who is stupid enough to do that? Why, so I would have to take supplements for the iron and protein I am missing everyday? Yeah, no thank you.

      1. roxxy says

The only reason there are mass amounts of animals used as food is because humans breed them for food. There would not be mass amounts existing naturally. Vegans and vegetarians generally only need supplements for b-12, so get your facts straight. Also, many meat eaters are deficient in b-12 also because b-12 is from bacteria. As for meat eating being a sin, there are many references in the bible stating to abstain from meat.

    5. Jam says

.. actually, no one would stop eating those animals since we used to eat it. well, what happened in Denmark is a crime since there's a universal law and i don't law is i just happened to know that killing a whale is a crime. now there's no law objecting the killing of cows, chickens and any other related animals. i guess that justify it!

      1. dhex says

        You're right.

    6. TODD says

cows pigs and the other animals we butcher are not near extinction

    7. Just showing both sides says

@Vegetarian: I would just like to state for the record that if humans, or other meat eaters, didn't eat other animals (such as cows) then the world would die. Now I am not just saying this, it is a known thing. If we just let animals that eat vegetation like grass and plants just eat then there would be nothing like that left in the area. (As I am saying this I would just like to make it clear that I am talking many, many years; I'm not saying it would happen straight away). It would become a wasteland. Therefore meat eaters are just balancing out the eco-system. Also I agree with 'really now?' I will respect your views being a vegetarian, I know how you feel about it, I used to be one too but since cutting meat and stuff out of my diet made me really ill I kind of have to eat meat. But anyway, if people eat meat then they eat meat. I don't feel it is right when people try to change others. But I also agree with you, it does need to be stopped; it is dreadful but my last point is that these dolphins are being killed for the sake of it; there is no reason why it is being done. Other animals like cows, pigs, chicken etc. are bred for food. Many years ago before farming men used to just hunt food from the wild, it is nature. Our ancestors did it and now we do it. It's been passed down as something we need to do. We just have a lazier yet more efficient way to do things.

      1. Melanie says

Just showing both sides- I'm not sure you have shown both sides. You are saying how animals now are bred for food, so doesn't that mean if we stopped breeding them in such mass quantities that they wouldn't eventually take over and eat all the vegetation? I'm actually a meat eater myself but I buy locally because of the ridiculousness of factory farming. As a nation, we do not NEED to have factory farms which hold hundreds of thousands of a given animal. We do not NEED them to be tortured in those factories so we can enjoy bacon cheeseburgers. Our ancestors NEEDED meat to survive, but today we have a ton of options besides factory farmed meat that we don't have to rely on them to produce our meat. I get it- we have a large population that demands meat, but at the cost of the environment and the animals in these factories, it's not worth it. We should be trying to revert back to the old ways of farming, spread the wealth to local farmers instead of companies like Tyson. We've dehumanized the animals we eat- we are so far removed from the process now that it's normal for us to get our pork from the grocery store without any care on how it got there. We need to appreciate the process a lot more because at the end of the day, smart animals are being brutalized for our need for consumption. I'm not trying to change you, but I hope you can look at it in a different way and see that what we do in North America (if this is where you are from) so we can all eat meat 3 times a day isn't really right.

On another note, this is obviously brutal and intolerable. I hope this reaches enough powerful people to have International animal rights laws kick in to ban this celebration.

        1. Kellie says

I agree with you Melanie, I just wish it were affordable for all families to buy from local farmers. Unfortunately, it's not. I would love nothing more than to buy my meat from a rancher who slaughters the livestock in the most humane way possible, but on a limited income budget (like the majority of American families) I must resort to buying what I can afford…at the grocery store. Trust me when I say, I DO have a care on how it got there, just not any other realistic options for feeding my family. Oh ya, and this isn't so I can eat meat 3 meals a day. Try most are happy to get meat at 1 meal a day! VERY SAD,, but this is reality, not a perfect fantasy world.

          1. Kellie says

The "tradition" of slaughtering these beautiful creatures for sport, has nothing to do with vegan/meat eaters. There is no comparison, so why do we always have to get off the true subject and take the focus away from where it needs to be? All that making it a comparison to our food supply does is minimize the importance of the message and does the people trying to raise awareness to this monsterous act, an incredible disservice. If you feel strongly about the issue, and agree with the people trying to help, then don't be a hinderance…find a productive, POSITIVE way to help!

          2. Robz says

Its not affordable because its not sustainable, even with the highest subsidies of all food in the USA, meat is still uneconomic.

      2. Cool Beans says

Somebody is up to scratch on their grade 9 ecology…Yay school!

      3. Robz says

Eating a plant based diet saves land, all of those acres of land that is used to grow plant food for animal agriculture, which is converted inefficiently into nutrition via meat. We breed the animals for food, so if we didn't eat them they would not exist, the land saved could be given back to support wildlife, endangered indigenous species rather than artificially supported stock animals. Meat eating is also the major cause of climate change, water and air pollution and even oppression of small-scale local farmers and indigenous people by land-grabbing agricultural western multinationals who are running out of land in their own countries. Basically the Earth cannot sustain us if we continue to eat meat, even though in the USA 90% of food animals are now raised in CAFOs (confined animal feed operations) where they see no pasture and are fed on highly processed feed, and pumped full of hormones and drugs, they still need to steal land from South America and Africa, also for the water resources that come with the land. Sea ocean temperatures have been linked to the severity of tropical storms, cause climate change, biggest factor animal agriculture. You say you don't want people to try to change others, but then you are happy to impose the consequences of your choices on the 65 billion land animals slaughtered each year, and 2 trillion fish, as well as the environmental damage and oppression of people that comes with animal agriculture. And don't be fooled by the marketing of humane methods, the sheer scale of the meat industry prevents this, with workers barely able to keep up with the slaughter lines..And then there is the human health cost. A recent UN study found that 70% of human disease is traceable to animal agriculture, linked to our global supply methods and reliance on pharmaceutcials. Then there are the direct affect on our health from a diet based on meat – we are seeing unprecedented rises in heart disease, atherosclerosis, obesity, diabetes, all with proven links to eating animal products.

    8. Ken J says

Um, no, they are not kill just for pleasure, they provide us nutrition. I know you like to think that everyone in the world should be exactly like you, but sorry, it doesn't work that way. Some of us likes to eat meat. If you want to be a vegetarian, fine, feel free to do what you like, stop trying to force your way onto everyone else. We are not killing cows and chickens for fun, we are making use of their meat and their skins…

  9. Ekendra Lamsal says

This is really sad story to see here, as far as I studied on Wiki and other portals, this (killing of whale) is a tradition in Denmark….

    1. Jonna Mae says

does that mean if our tradition includes eating human flesh, then that would be allowed since its part of our tradition and culture.,Just saying

      1. Charlie says

Can't simply rely on hypotheticals…it so happens our tradition is not to be cannibals, so your point is invalid. I am not saying that to condone killing animals as a ritual, because that is wrong. But if you're going to use examples to support your belief, make sure they make sense first. First, God said to Adam and Eve after sin entered the earth that we were aloud to kill and eat animals for food…so these arguments from vegetarians about animal cruelty are ridiculous. But I do agree that killing animals for fun, ivory, fur, etc is very cruel indeed. But you can't compare this to "legalizing cannibalism lmao…you truly made yourself sound like an idiot

        1. Nick says

Are you using the bible as a evidence? Here's one. How could Eve know that eating the forbidden fruit was wrong? If sin came after she ate it.

          1. Jen says

Because the bible states that God told Adam and Eve that they could eat from every tree but one- the one that they subsequently ate from and were cast out of the Garden of Eden for. If you are going to ask a question do your homework first…

      2. Louise says

Jonna Mae, I don't see where Ekendra Lamsal is saying that it is allowed, he's only pointing out that this happens often due to tradition.

        1. Ekendra Lamsal says

Thanks for pointing out. Many of the visitors have signed the petition on this. Sadly, such traditions occur in other countries too. I've include one other such link at the beginning of the article.

    2. Robz says

it used to be traditional to keep slaves, to oppress women, persecute gays…we have become more enlightened, time to evolve with the rest of us and not use tradition or culture as an excuse. The real reason is always money.

In the furnace such traditions, along with those who have them up!

  16. laila afsoon says

    hello,

there doesn't appear to be a url for the petition, many have ridiculous from points and even more ridiculous headings of to…

    for example:

    http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/stop-calderon-

this one is to presidents of the world, that isn't direct so it doesn't help much. they need a really strong TO heading, such as an ambassador or a particular president, this one is very vague, the girl who made this petition at least put her name, but it is even more helpful if it comes from a group.

by the way, here is one more online-petition to forward to people to sign:

    http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/denmark-end

ANYWAY, you should make the “online-petition” on change.org site

    http://www.change.org/start_a_petition

and then give the link to all those people to sign it…it will be much more effective…

    PS: my change.org profile is:

  20. Curtis Carroll says

Faroe Islands is a selfgoverning entity, they are a protectorate of denmark, but have thier own government and regulations, denmark does not have power to decide what happens in the faroe islands, just as is the case with greenland…

I personally agree that it is not ok to kill protected species no matter if they are cute like dolphins or scary like sharks (believe the japaneese have been hunting theese for thier fins, although i believe they have regulated it, or banned) however it is wrong for this group to claim the faroe islands is in denmark, and that the faroe islands are under the danish flag, they have thier own flag, that resembles thier heritage, the english and the norwegian flags, originally the faroe islands were populated by norwegians dating way back to the time of the vikings. many years later they came under danish protectorate, but they remain having thier own government….

please do not misrepresent this group so badly by claiming that the whale killings are happening in denmark. and the dophins in the pictures are grinde whales not dolphins, but that is a minor thing, still problematic the way they are killed. and to address the horrendous screams of the grinde whales or calderon dolphins as it were, those are sounds that greenpeace has doctored in for effect and not real sounds comming from the animals.

    1. Chris Edwards says

      Well said

It's not Denmark, it's the Faroe Islands, which are wholly self governed.

Doesn't make them any less of a bunch of pricks, but Denmark has no say in the matter.

      http://www.mfa.fo/Default.aspx?ID=12949

  21. Arthur K. says

These are grinde whales, for f***s sake, and it happens in FAROE ISLANDS, NOT Denmark. You're so quick to judge, it's ridiculous. Get your facts straight. When something happens in Scotland, do you say it's the English that did it?! Get a goddamned education. Besides, we could go on all day about how you treat women. Bloody ignorants…

  22. ievakrumina says

    It`s terrible!!! :@ :@ :@
    ;(((

  23. Jeff H says

dude… this is not a tradition in Denmark. Please do not be so ignorant, claiming things you don't know anything about. I'm a dane, and I feel anger when being compared to people who commit such monstrosities. Those are faroese people (Faroe Islands) NOT danes. Danes have a high sense of morality in general, which indicates that such things as this would never happen and go unpunished under the original sovereignty of Denmark. Trust me on this.

  24. Jeff H says

Dude… get your facts right.. This is happening at Faroe Islands, which IS NOT under Danish regulations and laws. There is a huge difference between a dane and a faroese.

  25. Michael Christensen says

haha omg i love those pictures ! 😀 their so awsome ! killing whales is prolly the best thing ive ever tried :Danyway, why is killing whales so much {word_removed} worse than killing chickens, cows or pigs ?!the whales are scared and suffer for hmm,, ½-1 hour MAX ! the chickens and pigs suffer their whole {word_removed} life !! they have never tasted freedom, always been in cages and almost tortured.so id say, stop torturing the chickens, cows and pigs, THEN we will maybe think bout stopping to kill whales..oh btw, the reason we kill them is because the meat is awsome, its the best meat you can get.well thats atleast why i think we hunt and kill them

    1. HUMANITARIAN says

There is a difference between chickens, cows and pigs and the whales… Man raised chickens, cows and pigs for food. Do you raised the whales? Do you eat them after you killed them? Yes, I think. If you don't like killing chickens, cows and pigs, etc. then you should not be killing whales… The act of killing is a tradition of a wicked.

      1. dee em says

then dont eat anything. the act of eating vegetables is also killing. vegetables are also alive, no?

        1. Robz says

no central nervous system. Actually if you really did care about plants you would eat a plant based diet, since that is the way to avoid "killing" more of them, since animal agriculture uses more plants as food for animals than we would need if we only ate plants directly, we would of course also save land, pollution and a lot of diseases.

      2. Robz says

So you would be ok if we set-up whale and dolphin farms, breeding them for slaughter, most probably to the detriment of the wild population, since all farming has a negative affect on nature. The only consistent ethical approach is to remove our misguided reliance on animal food completely

    2. Minako says

Lol except that cows and chickens won’t be extinct

    3. light bringer says

do you breed these whales to ensure they won't go extinct? do you eat the meat of these beings? why don't you hack each other to death for fun instead?

The Faroe Islands, sometimes Faeroe Islands, Faroe(s), or Faeroes (Faroese: Føroyar, Danish: Færøerne) are an island group situated between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean, approximately halfway between Scotland and Iceland. The Faroe Islands are a part of the Kingdom of Denmark, along with Denmark proper and Greenland.

The Faroe Islands have been an autonomous province of Denmark since 1948. Over the years, the Faroese have been granted control of most matters. Some areas still remain the responsibility of Denmark, such as military defence, foreign affairs and law.

The Faroe Islands have close traditional ties with Iceland, Shetland, Orkney and the Outer Hebrides. The Faroe Islands were politically associated with Denmark in 1380, when Norway entered the Kalmar Union with Denmark, which gradually evolved into Danish control of the islands, but this association ceased in 1814. The islands are represented on the Nordic Council by the Danish delegation.

When you say “YOU” I assume you think your getting through to one person and that your blaming them for this. In fact you share the blame along with everyone else in this world including myself. You think this is shocking? I got news for you. You and I and everyone of this world needs to wake up and see the big picture. This shocking event is said but it pales in comparison to what goes on in this world on a daily basis.

What about all the fish or sharks or other sea going creatures? Did you know that right now there are people killing off all the sharks in this world for the sake of making big bucks selling their fins? It is a stupid thing to think that shark fins will help you stay healthy and most educated people know this. Yet billions of sharks are being killed and the echo systems of the oceans are being destroyed as a result. These whales that everyone is so upset about won't matter soon because we are letting them kill off our oceans and when the fish are gone then we will likely all die off too.

So if you want to do something then do a little research and find out what is really going on in the world, then start telling people because the only way it will stop is if everyone knows about it.

Get mad at the government for allowing greedy and corrupt people to get away with destroying this world.
Get mad at the media for not being more aggresive at telling the world.
Get mad at yourself for being so ignorant about what is going on in this world and stop procrastinating and do something about it.

You can start by educating yourself.

  58. brian says

Don't think they are alone in the world. Here is a link to animal cruelty issues in India. http://www.indiaenvironmentportal.org.in/taxono… Every country as far as I can tell has something to hide when it comes to cruelty to animals. And I don't just mean killing for food. Food is one thing but when it comes down to out right senseless killing it should spark a world wide outrage.

  59. Joanzac says

    I HAVE NEWS FOR YOU…

The statement “You” refers to ALL ANIMAL ABUSERS WORLDWIDE. I dedicate my life to the “Fight Against Animal Abuse And Animal Cruelty Worldwide” and believe you me… IT IS NOT JUST A FIGHT, IT IS AN ALL OUT “BLOODY WAR”!!!. I “Do Research” and “Educating Myself” on a daily basis. I am neither ignorant nor a procrastinator.

I AM AN ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST!!! I am a member of…

ACT NOW FOR ANIMALS, ALLEY CATS, AMERICAN HUMANE SOCIETY, ANIMAL LAW COALITION, ANIMAL LIBERATION FRONT, ANIMAL LIBERATION FRONT WORLDWIDE, ANIMAL RIGHTS BOOK, ANIMAL RIGHTS COALITION, ASPCA (AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS), BETTER THE WORLD, BIG CAT RESCUE, BORN FREE, CARE2, FOR THE LOVE OF THE DOG, GREENPEACE, GUARDIAN, HUMANE SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL, IN DEFENSE OF ANIMALS, NATIONAL WILDLIFE FEDERATION, NATIONAL WILDLIFE HUMANE SOCIETY, PEACE & KINDNESS, PETA (AKA: PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS), PREVENTION OF ANIMAL CRUELTY (AKA: PAWZ FOR THE CAUZE), WILDLIFE1, WSPA (AKA: WORLD SOCIETY FOR THE PROTECTION OF ANIMALS) AND WWF (AKA: WORLD WILDLIFE FEDERATION). Below is the link to my Change.org profile. Change.org reflects only 1/10 of the work I do daily, as an Animal Rights Activist. So as you will see, if my Change, org profile alone represents only 1/10 of my work, I am very active in the Fight Against Animal Abuse And Animal Cruelty.

    WHAT HAVE YOU DONE LATELY!?!?

  61. brian says

Please do not take my comments the wrong way Joanzac, I think if you go back and read my post again you should see it was not my intent to attack you, I was just making a general statement.
Your efforts as an animal rights activist are to be admired and I wish more people would do the same.
But what I was getting at with my statement was accusing the human race as a whole including myself and everyone because we are all to blame.
Even the most die hard activists are still humans and there is no getting around that. I just blame us as a species. So don't take it personally. I think we all need to wake up, not just you and others already awake.

What have I done? nothing compared to you and that is not the point. I was not trying to elevate myself by putting you down. I am also human and as such I am part of the problem. But before we humans as a species start to turn our bad ways around, it is my belief we will need to all come to the realization of just how destructive we are. And I doubt this will happen until we recognize just how much damage we have caused and learn how to accept responsibility for it.
I think that the vast majority of people know deep down inside how much damage we cause to this world and everything in it on a daily basis, but since it is too overwhelming for one person to make changes for the better, we just accept it and use it to justify our reasons to continue along our destructive path.
Am I condemning us all? perhaps, but I am still hopeful that one day our species will turn things around. And I hope that day is sooner rather then later.
So don't worry about what I have done so far. I think we should be all asking ourselves what we are going to do next. Personally I don't know what I can do aside from posting my feelings here. But at least I am starting to speak up. That is not much but I hope I can begin to do more.

    Happy Holidays.

  62. Joanzac says

I appreciate your response, as I did feel attacked. I now have a better understanding on your stance. I do admit that the Human Race is the Worst Predator and Largest Destructive Force on the Entire Planet. However, I also believe that “Education Is The Key To Success” on any and all issues.

If you are interested, there is a lot you can do to help, apart from posting your feelings…

First, Spread The Word And Educate Others On The Many Injustices Of Man.

Second, Join A Group Or Organization (this can be done right from your computer and without ever leaving the house). To find one that you might be interested in, you can do a search on “animal rights groups” or “animal rights organizations”. Both bring up a host of really good groups and organizations.

Third, Sign Petitions (but only sign those that you feel are important to you) as many or as few as you choose to. You can find all of the petitions in the world right on your computer. Simply by doing a search. For example, My number one cause is to STOP “Live Animal Skinning In China” (my goal in life is to put an end to this barbaric practice and to instill some form of Animal Rights in China). So if you were interested in this cause you would search “petitions on live animal skinning in china”, which will bring up a whole list of petitions. Also, Care2.com and Change.org offer petitions on numerous Human, Animal and World Causes.

The ball is in your court. Good luck in whatever you choose to do or choose not to do.

    Sincerely, Joan

  96. Dia says

there is nothing brutal, nor uncivilized about the whale slaughter… first of all I would like you to get your facts straight: it is true that the people of the Faeroe Islands are civilized and educated people living in a modern, industrialized and developed country, but it is not a part of Denmark de facto. it has it’s own culture and language, but maintains diplomatic and economic relations to Denmark. another thing is, that if the whale slaughter wasn’t sustainable or posed a major threat to the pilot whale population of the north Atlantic ocean, it would be banned. that os called logic in English, by the way.

let’s not forget that the strong pictures are a misleading and stupefying way of proving your point. If i was to channel all the blood from a major corporate slaughterhouse into the ocean, it would turn a 100 times bloodier. Yes, it is graphic and in some ways repulsive, but it is only because people aren’t used to knowing where their food comes from. slaughterhouses are hidden from the public eye, and are regarded as taboos, even in our times. the pilot whales are free range and organic, (besides from the heavy metals and toxins, released into the ocean by heavy industry in Europe and North America, which accumulates in the whales), relatively small numbers of whales are killed each year (about a few hundred) leaving the total population unharmed. Therefore, the whales meat is considered a delicatesse and is only served at special occasions.

It has been a passion of mine for a long time to advocate animal rights and to enlighten people of the danger they pose to the world. but it goes both ways, and NEVER forget that. In this case, I feel an urge to be rational and logical, striving for facts and figures instead of pathetic hate speeches against the Faeroese people (NOT DANISH).

one last thing… the whales DO die instantly. there is a board of researchers on the Faeroe islands devoting their time to the sole purpose of making the whale slaughter as humane and ethically correct as possible. the whales also don’t come to the Faeroe islands in “friendship”, that is just bullshit. They come to feed and breed on the rich fishing banks surrounding the islands. their diet is mainly comprised of squid, which is abundant here, because of the low commercial interest in squid fishing.

i hope you guys will read all of this and write back, if you don’t agree with me. my hope is to find a philosophical synthesis, that can be adapted to the Faeroese people, as well as to the international community.

    peace!

    1. robin says

well said…i like it how no body point out that they live on a volcanic island where no crops grow and the fact they didn't have access to main land up to not so long back and the grind was to feed and warm the population for the rest of the year..to this day every whale killed is used for food and fuel..and the biggest fact they are misleading is the fact that only town elders are allowed to do the killing as they have been trained to catch and kill in about 5 seconds..young kids are not even allowed on the beach while it is happening..so i ask where in gods name did they get the right of passage from?

    2. ep says

Let’s get one thing straight. The Faroe islands are not IN Denmark. They’re in the kingdom of Denmark. The kingdom used to be all of Northern Europe(including Britain). But now it’s just Greenland, Faroe and, until 60 yrs ago, Iceland. The Faroe islands are basically the Falklands of Denmark. The speak in an ancient Scandinavian dialect that most Danes don’t understand, and we have virtually no idea what goes on there. On another note, if you look at the pictures you can clearly see that the whales have had their heads cut partially off. I’m no doctor, but that should kill most mammals. What they are doing might be questionable, but they aren’t cruel.

  122. Mariel says

Horrible! I’m shocked with the cruelty and ignorance. What a stupid tradition

  123. jee says

    This is inhuman.. so horrible.

  124. Honest Dane says

Guys please again? exactly the same was posted years ago, why are you doing that?
Denmark has absolutely nothing to do with this, we don't even have those animals here.

Instead of just making a "heey look at how aweful this is" story and making people angry, do some research about where and what you write.

    Regards

An Honest Danish citizen who has never seen or heard anything like that happen here.

  125. Steve Racilis says

This behavior is uncivilized. None government orgnizations must collect millions of signatures to petition the Geneva Convention to send investigators and determine the effect of total elimation of dolphins on earth.

  126. Arlyn Bondoc Tibule says

This is horrifying! these people are not human because they don't have feeling at all… I pray that there would be an immediate action on this matter.

  127. Vherth Zauro says

why are these so cruel are they have conscience?

  128. Zenia says

This is absolutely disgusting!! Who gave the right to us "so called humans" to kill these innocent dolphins?

This is the definition of human in the dictionary.. " Having or showing those positive aspects of nature and character regarded as distinguishing humans from other animals: an act of human kindness."

Shame on the people who participate in events like this and call themselves "human"!!!!!

  129. Susan Sweeney says

    Why

  130. Honest Dane 2 says

Just to make it clear to all the retards commenting here, this is not in Denmark. If you would care to do your research, then you would find that Denmark is extremely flat. We have NO mountains. The only possibility is Sweden, as Norway Waters are to cold. Please stop commenting and acting all smart. This could be from one of our Islands. If so, it would not be Danes, but an entirely different nation, that true Danes do not consider danes.

Do your research before offending countries idiots.

  131. Bjavle says

It should be noted that, although the Faroe Islands are indeed a part of the Kingdom of Denmark, they are largely an autonomous entity. A home-rule law was brought into effect in 1948 which gave the Faroe Islands a considerable degree of political independence from Denmark. The Faroese are self governing in most matters other than foreign affairs, the legal system and defence. Furthermore, although Denmark is certainly part of the European Union, the Faroe Islands are not.

  132. Marcus Lucassen says

This is NOT Denmark. It was a part of Denmark until 29 Of march 2005. I am Danish and i have never heard about this horrible thing. Look at it, It is horrible but dont shame Denmark. I Would do anything for stopping this, But please rename the title. It's not Denmark.

  133. Jayd says

Fucking DISGUSTING ! What’s wrong with those ” humans” ???!!!!

  134. Danish Guy says

This is pretty funny. You have no idea what you are talking about.
First of all: They are not dolphins, they are whales. And it is legal to hunt them.
Second: This is not a "celebration" of any kind. They are used for food, just like cows and chickens.
Third: They are being cut in the spine, killing them instantly. The most humane way.
Fourth: I spite of being under danish jurisdiction, this is very far from the danish lifestyle. The danish people do not speak the same language as people on Faroe Island.
    Get your facts straight.

  135. Alvin Padilla says

they are immature! people of Denmark are DEMONIC. must be condemn to hell!

    1. Lordann Aquino Ph says

What does Denmark make so I can stop buying it? According to Wiki: machinery and instruments, meat and meat products, dairy products, fish, pharmaceuticals, fashion apparel, furniture, windmills, Christmas trees, potted plants, mink and fox skin, salt, various specialty niche products.

Also according to Wiki, their main export partners are: partners
    Germany 15.9%
    Sweden 13.5%
    United Kingdom 9.6%
    United States 6.6%
    Norway 6.3%
    Netherlands 4.6% (2012 est.)

  153. Jennifer says

It's unfortunate that so many have chosen to argue about the killing of any animal or religion etc. and not actually done anything to stop the atrocity of the situation. How about a world wide petition to force the Danish government to ban the "celebration" . https://www.change.org/en-CA/petitions/government-of-denmark-stop-the-mass-murder-of-the-calderon-dolphins#share

She had enough of this cruel abusive heartless human beings.I mean think about it Wild fires and all the storms are basically Mother nature saying STOP IT or face more consequences.

  164. Elsie M Riley says

I think that what they are doing over there is cruel inhumane and very cowardly. There are much better ways to prove you are manly than killing a defenseless animal.

  169. Sandra Edwards says

It's so sad the comments that I have been reading. People are not understanding that it's not the point if we eat meat or not it is the way that these creature's are been killed so humane and cruel.

All living things in the world are all connected in one way or another. Rampant killing can NEVER be justified – cultural tradition or otherwise.
Please stop such activities – for those of us who still have some sense of mercy in us for living things on earth.
