I don’t use IM/chat clients more than my fav Blogger but having been recently notified by the Mirosoft’s newsletter, I came across ‘i’m making a difference’. This is about using Windows Live Messenger and contributing social service organizations at the same time, simply by placing a text code in the messenger options.
If you use Windows Live Messenger frequently, then you might not be new to this. Now you can instant message and contribute at the same time. The i’m initiative is only supported by Windows Live Messenger 8.1 or higher. Please follow the applicable instructions given in the website. Simply place the text code corresponding to the cause of your choice into your Display Name. Windows Live Messenger 8.1 or higher is required to participate. And your country as mine might not be displayed at the drop down menu- but no matter with this. You can use the variety of options as
Text Code | Cause |
*red+u | American Red Cross |
*bgca | Boys & Girls Clubs of America |
*hsus | Humane Society of the United States |
*naf | National AIDS Fund |
*mssoc | National MS Society |
*9mil | ninemillion.org |
*sierra | Sierra Club |
*help | StopGlobalWarming.org |
*komen | Susan G. Komen for the Cure |
*unicef | U.S. Fund for UNICEF |
