Bollywood actress Esha Deol, whose last releases Cash and Darling sank without a trace at the box-office, says she has become selective about picking up projects.
“I was not very selective earlier. I have a large heart and I can’t say no to my friends. However, with time one has to realise the importance of picking up the right kind of projects,” Esha said during a recent visit to the capital to launch The Metal 5, a new handset by Samsung Electronics Co Ltd.
The actress, who made her debut with Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe and is the daughter of celebrated film couple Hema Malini and Dharmendra, struck fame with her performance in Dhoom.
She has also earned rave reviews for her performance in No Entry and Ankahee.
She says she is now looking for variation in her roles. “Now I want a director to come with a script, which can bring out the bratty quality in me on-screen. I want every time to play a different role.”
Discussing the possibility of working with mother Hema and sister Ahana, she said, “I would love to share screen space with mom. However, nothing is planned yet. I am waiting for the right script to come.”
“As far as Ahana is concerned. If she wants to cast me in her movie I will work with her.”
The actress is also a trained dancer: “I have been dancing since childhood and it is very close to my heart. Dance is a different career altogether. I do a lot of shows, like recently I performed Odissi dance at Jagannath temple. It is the spiritual side of me.”
Her upcoming projects include a comedy and film opposite Shiney Ahuja called Hijack.
