I just realized that I had purchase a license of the world’s one of the most popular WordPress themes – Avada – the support license had expired months ago and I have never used the theme’s license to activate it on any websites before. Sadly, ThemeForest’s policy and so does that of Themefusion – the company behind Avada – no more provide support for issues like mine. Issue is – Avada’s demo import failure.
Web Server System specs scenario:
- Azure VM – Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
- Standard B2s (2 vcpus, 4 GiB memory)
- SEAsia (Singapore VPS location)
- LiteSpeed server – custom installed
As of writing this post and during the time of Avada’s error, the Avada version history 6.2.2 with no previous version installed is the scenario. All available patches have been applied as well.
The WordPress and Server environment is perfected at
- WP version: 5.4 (no multisite)
- PHP Version: PHP Version 7.3.8-4+bionic
- PHP Memory Limit: 756 MB (wondering that is much more than what PHP needs for a personal website like mine)
- WP Debug mode: Disabled
- PHP Post max Size: 72MB (enough for the import, right?)
- Max Upload Size: 72MB
- PHP Time Limit: 3600 (the wow! factor)
- PHP Max Input Vars: 5000 (the wow! factor)
- Using the latest WordPress version
- PHP version 7.3 or higher
- MySQL version 5.6 or higher (MariaDB version 10.1+)
- HTTPS support
- max_execution_time 180
- memory_limit 128M
- post_max_size 32M
- upload_max_filesize 32M
I searched their support portal thoroughly. All I could find is their standard document on demo import otherwise suggesting alternatives for the beginning websites – and that wouldn’t apply to me.
ThemeFusion does not provide support – paid support is meant for creating support ticket only. Their community forum is for user to user interactions only. I couldn’t find any help for me from those 116 community posts for “demo import” in the forum here.
So, obviously it looks like it is not only me but there are others who have the same issue of demo import feature not working in Avada theme; and this has been around for quite a few months.
I’m writing as a comment to the ThemeForest page for “Avada | Responsive Multi-Purpose Theme” to let authors know about it.
Now that I don’t want to waste another day (3 days already spent on this Avada demo import error) – and head back to a local dev environment for alternative import or maybe wait for a fix during days of the Covid-19 lockdown.
