FIRST ACER SMARTPHONE LAUNCHING IN FEBRUARY
Acer is to launch its smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month. Acer may unveil more than one model and that the phones may use multiple kinds of networks, such as Wi-Fi and mobile. Acer declined to reveal additional details about the devices, such as what operating system the phones will run and when they’ll become available on February 16.

FULL-DISK ENCRYPTION FOR ALL COMPUTER DRIVES
One of the world’s largest computer drive makers published the final specifications for a single, full-disk encryption standard that can be used across all hard disk drives, solid state drives (SSD) and encryption key management applications. Once enabled, any disk that uses the specification will be locked without a password — and the password will be needed even before a computer boots.
