Dr Ram Baran Yadav of Nepali Congress has been elected as the First President of Nepal today after he got 308 votes for 280 by Ramraja Prasad Singh. Total casted votes 590. I congratulate Dr Yadav for being on the such a glorious position of the country- Nepal’s First President.
Speculation made earlier were in favor of Dr Yadav, and hence he is the Republic Nepal’s very first President.
With some small parties pledging fresh support to the NC-UML-MPRF alliance for presidency in Monday’s run-off, Nepali Congress candidate Dr Ram Baran Yadav has garnered a groundswell of support as the new republic’s first president. The new three-party alliance received clear words from some new parties, which boycotted the presidential polls on Saturday, during parleys to garner 15 votes that he ran short of in Saturday’s polling to win the election.
