Were you searching which is the most visited site in Nepal? (assumed that you’re from here, as me)—It’ neither ekantipur nor cybersansar—as the screenshot shows something else.

Visiting Alexa– the web information (Amazon) company, will answer most of the queries about the top sites Globally or country wise.

According to Alexa, Google.com is ranked as the most visited site from Nepal whose description goes (Enables users to search the Web, Usenet, and images. Features include PageRank, caching and translation of results, and an option to find similar pages. The company’s focus is developing search technology).

The following is the list of top web sites and blogs in Nepal rank wise:

  1. Google.com
  2. Google.com.np
  3. Facebook
  4. Yahoo!
  5. Windows Live
  6. YouTube (wow! is the bandwidth really appreciable to support youtube videos???)
  7. hi5
  8. Microsoft Network (MSN)
  9. Blogger.com
  10. Nagarik News (relatively newer site getting into the list, but by word-of-mouth)

To my surprise, NepalNews.com, eKantipur.com cybersansar.com and tried-being-another-word-of-mouth mysansar.com (got 24th) are all back in the list. Obviously, all the top sites (except nagariknews.com) visited in Nepal are not Nepal originated.

This data is accounted for the month of July 2009. BTW, did I wrote that this blog is ranked 900th.

Once again, don’t get surprised by visiting the top sites list in Alexa.
