5th International Folk Festival 2010

Not yet another festival among the festival season in Nepal, this is a great celebration. 5th International Folk Festival 2010 (World Folk Festival) is going to be organized in Nepal by Everest Nepal Cultural Group as a continuation of previous ears international folk festivals, the motto line being ‘The all artists of the World of its Own‘.
This IFF 2010 festival is to be observed from 5th March to 14th March in various cities of the nation. The participating countries on this folk festival and cultural exchange programs are Nepal, France, India, Poland, Bulgaria, The Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Slovakia, Lithuania, Bangladesh, Slovenia and Spain.
The festival will be observed on 5 different cities of Nepal starting March 6 till 13th, however the festival starts one day ahead (March 5) and ends one day after (March 14) for official celebration and cultural exchange inclusions. The venue, date and timing (Program Schedule 2010) of this World Folk Festival 2010 are:
a. Nepal Academy Hall, Kamaladi: 6th March 2010 (Falgun 22, 2066), 2pm
b. Surkhet Khullamanch: 8th March 2010 (Falgun 24, 2066), 11am
c. Palpa Tundikhel: 10th March 2010 (Falgun 26, 2066), 11am
d. Pokhara (venue not provided by the organizer, but it must be either City Hall or Stadium): 11th March 2010 (Falgun 27, 2066), 11am
e. Khullamanch, Kathmandu: 13th March 2010 (Falgun 28, 2066), 3pm
The local organizers include National Lok – Dohori Geet Pratisthan Nepal, Surkhet and Palpa Udhyog Banijya Sangh, Tansen, Palpa. The main organizer of this 5th International Folk Festival 2010 is Everest Nepal Cultural Group, Lazimpat, Kathmandu. Supported by the Government of Nepal, Nepal Tourism Year 2011 promotion and ABC television.

Everest Nepal cultural Group has been organizing “International Folk Festival” regularly every couple spring’s months of March. ENCG invites around ten International folklore groups from all continents around the globe with five national folklore groups.
The largest international dimension of the folkloric groups / artistic troops welcomed, the formalities undertaken by the authorities of the countries of origin, the cost of transportation, of medical aid, of insurance/ assistance drove the Nepal festivals to regroup in an organization in order to facilitate the administrative and diplomatic formalities and to share the programming costs of the amateur artists concerned.
• The objectives :
The organization Everest Nepal Cultural Group, “International Folk Festival” while taking into account the needs of its adherents, elaborates every two year a program of the folkloric groups, coming from all continents, so that the set of the groups is welcomed without discontinuity by the different festivals, from the arrival in Nepal to the departure of Nepal, or to other destinations, according to a negotiated suitability with the concerned artists.
Every adherent engages in a festival program. He must ensue a coherent circuit permitting to receive the concerned troops during his festival program.
Led solely without lucrative goal by constituted teams of volunteers, this organization wants to be extremely professional and respectful of the ballets that it receives in Nepal. The organization ENCG, “International Folk Festival” seduces especially by the quality of the groups that it gathers, the sincerity of the meetings, and the festival spirit that it generates.
