Denmark is a big shame The sea is stained in red and in the mean while it’s not because of the climate effects of nature. Mass killing of animals is absolutely an inhuman activities.
It’s because of the cruelty that the human beings (civilized human) kill hundreds of the famous and intelligent Calderon dolphins.
This happens every year in Faeroe island in Denmark . In this slaughter the main participants are young teens.

To show that they are adults and mature…. Bullish
In this big celebration, nothing is missing for the fun. Everyone is participating in one way or the other, killing or looking at the cruelty “supporting like a spectator”
Is it necessary to mention that the dolphin Calderon, like all the other species of dolphins, it’s near extinction and they get near men to play and interact. In a way of PURE friendship
They don’t die instantly; they are cut 1, 2 or 3 times with thick hocks. And at that time the dolphins produce a grim extremely compatible with the cry of a new born child.
But he suffers and there’s no compassion till this sweet being slowly dies in its own blood

Faroe Islands is a selfgoverning entity, they are a protectorate of denmark, but have thier own government and regulations, denmark does not have power to decide what happens in the faroe islands, just as is the case with greenland…
I personally agree that it is not ok to kill protected species no matter if they are cute like dolphins or scary like sharks (believe the japaneese have been hunting theese for thier fins, although i believe they have regulated it, or banned) however it is wrong for this group to claim the faroe islands is in denmark, and that the faroe islands are under the danish flag, they have thier own flag, that resembles thier heritage, the english and the norwegian flags, originally the faroe islands were populated by norwegians dating way back to the time of the vikings. many years later they came under danish protectorate, but they remain having thier own government….
please do not misrepresent this group so badly by claiming that the whale killings are happening in denmark. and the dophins in the pictures are grinde whales not dolphins, but that is a minor thing, still problematic the way they are killed. and to address the horrendous screams of the grinde whales or calderon dolphins as it were, those are sounds that greenpeace has doctored in for effect and not real sounds comming from the animals.

I'm a dane, and I feel anger when being compared to people who commit such monstrosities. Those are faroese people (Faroe Islands) NOT danes. Danes have a high sense of morality in general, which indicates that such things as this would never happen and go unpunished under the original sovereignty of Denmark. Trust me on this.

When you say “YOU” I assume you think your getting through to one person and that your blaming them for this. In fact you share the blame along with everyone else in this world including myself. You think this is shocking? I got news for you. You and I and everyone of this world needs to wake up and see the big picture. This shocking event is said but it pales in comparison to what goes on in this world on a daily basis.
What about all the fish or sharks or other sea going creatures? Did you know that right now there are people killing off all the sharks in this world for the sake of making big bucks selling their fins? It is a stupid thing to think that shark fins will help you stay healthy and most educated people know this. Yet billions of sharks are being killed and the echo systems of the oceans are being destroyed as a result. These whales that everyone is so upset about won't matter soon because we are letting them kill off our oceans and when the fish are gone then we will likely all die off too.
So if you want to do something then do a little research and find out what is really going on in the world, then start telling people because the only way it will stop is if everyone knows about it.
Get mad at the government for allowing greedy and corrupt people to get away with destroying this world.
Get mad at the media for not being more aggresive at telling the world.
Get mad at yourself for being so ignorant about what is going on in this world and stop procrastinating and do something about it.

Please do not take my comments the wrong way Joanzac, I think if you go back and read my post again you should see it was not my intent to attack you, I was just making a general statement.
Your efforts as an animal rights activist are to be admired and I wish more people would do the same.
But what I was getting at with my statement was accusing the human race as a whole including myself and everyone because we are all to blame.
Even the most die hard activists are still humans and there is no getting around that. I just blame us as a species. So don't take it personally. I think we all need to wake up, not just you and others already awake.
What have I done? nothing compared to you and that is not the point. I was not trying to elevate myself by putting you down. I am also human and as such I am part of the problem. But before we humans as a species start to turn our bad ways around, it is my belief we will need to all come to the realization of just how destructive we are. And I doubt this will happen until we recognize just how much damage we have caused and learn how to accept responsibility for it.
I think that the vast majority of people know deep down inside how much damage we cause to this world and everything in it on a daily basis, but since it is too overwhelming for one person to make changes for the better, we just accept it and use it to justify our reasons to continue along our destructive path.
Am I condemning us all? perhaps, but I am still hopeful that one day our species will turn things around. And I hope that day is sooner rather then later.
So don't worry about what I have done so far. I think we should be all asking ourselves what we are going to do next. Personally I don't know what I can do aside from posting my feelings here. But at least I am starting to speak up. That is not much but I hope I can begin to do more.

I appreciate your response, as I did feel attacked. I now have a better understanding on your stance. I do admit that the Human Race is the Worst Predator and Largest Destructive Force on the Entire Planet. However, I also believe that “Education Is The Key To Success” on any and all issues.
If you are interested, there is a lot you can do to help, apart from posting your feelings…
First, Spread The Word And Educate Others On The Many Injustices Of Man.
Second, Join A Group Or Organization (this can be done right from your computer and without ever leaving the house). To find one that you might be interested in, you can do a search on “animal rights groups” or “animal rights organizations”. Both bring up a host of really good groups and organizations.
Third, Sign Petitions (but only sign those that you feel are important to you) as many or as few as you choose to. You can find all of the petitions in the world right on your computer. Simply by doing a search. For example, My number one cause is to STOP “Live Animal Skinning In China” (my goal in life is to put an end to this barbaric practice and to instill some form of Animal Rights in China). So if you were interested in this cause you would search “petitions on live animal skinning in china”, which will bring up a whole list of petitions. Also, Care2.com and Change.org offer petitions on numerous Human, Animal and World Causes.
The ball is in your court. Good luck in whatever you choose to do or choose not to do.

there is nothing brutal, nor uncivilized about the whale slaughter… first of all I would like you to get your facts straight: it is true that the people of the Faeroe Islands are civilized and educated people living in a modern, industrialized and developed country, but it is not a part of Denmark de facto. it has it’s own culture and language, but maintains diplomatic and economic relations to Denmark. another thing is, that if the whale slaughter wasn’t sustainable or posed a major threat to the pilot whale population of the north Atlantic ocean, it would be banned. that os called logic in English, by the way.
let’s not forget that the strong pictures are a misleading and stupefying way of proving your point. If i was to channel all the blood from a major corporate slaughterhouse into the ocean, it would turn a 100 times bloodier. Yes, it is graphic and in some ways repulsive, but it is only because people aren’t used to knowing where their food comes from. slaughterhouses are hidden from the public eye, and are regarded as taboos, even in our times. the pilot whales are free range and organic, (besides from the heavy metals and toxins, released into the ocean by heavy industry in Europe and North America, which accumulates in the whales), relatively small numbers of whales are killed each year (about a few hundred) leaving the total population unharmed. Therefore, the whales meat is considered a delicatesse and is only served at special occasions.
It has been a passion of mine for a long time to advocate animal rights and to enlighten people of the danger they pose to the world. but it goes both ways, and NEVER forget that. In this case, I feel an urge to be rational and logical, striving for facts and figures instead of pathetic hate speeches against the Faeroese people (NOT DANISH).
one last thing… the whales DO die instantly. there is a board of researchers on the Faeroe islands devoting their time to the sole purpose of making the whale slaughter as humane and ethically correct as possible. the whales also don’t come to the Faeroe islands in “friendship”, that is just bullshit. They come to feed and breed on the rich fishing banks surrounding the islands. their diet is mainly comprised of squid, which is abundant here, because of the low commercial interest in squid fishing.
i hope you guys will read all of this and write back, if you don’t agree with me. my hope is to find a philosophical synthesis, that can be adapted to the Faeroese people, as well as to the international community.

But they really aren’t Danish. And trust me this looks worse than it actually is. The island has a puny population of 46.000. And it’s not like every single inhabitant is going to eat an entire whale. And this only happen once a year. That’s perhaps 300 whales a year. Not enough to harm the whales. Oh and those 46.000 inhabitants…. Only 6% of those are true Danes. The only thing that ties them to Denmark is their laws.

Let’s get one thing straight. The Faroe islands are not IN Denmark. They’re in the kingdom of Denmark. The kingdom used to be all of Northern Europe(including Britain). But now it’s just Greenland, Faroe and, until 60 yrs ago, Iceland. The Faroe islands are basically the Falklands of Denmark. The speak in an ancient Scandinavian dialect that most Danes don’t understand, and we have virtually no idea what goes on there. On another note, if you look at the pictures you can clearly see that the whales have had their heads cut partially off. I’m no doctor, but that should kill most mammals. What they are doing might be questionable, but they aren’t cruel.
